ABCB Building Codes Committee

BPIC represents the building products sector on the Building Codes Committee (BCC) of the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB). The role of the BCC is to provide advice on technical matters to the ABCB on all parts of the National Construction Code.

The BCC is a valuable national forum for regulatory authorities and industry to consider technical matters relevant to building regulation reform consistent with its obligations under Council of Australian Governments (COAG) and the IGA.

Membership of the BCC is vital to BPIC in order to promote a nationally consistent approach to building regulations and the compliance framework.
The BCC meets three times per year and gives advice on changes to the BCA and the adoption of relevant Australian Standards.
