BUILDING PRODUCTS INNOVATION COUNCIL

The Building Products Innovation Council is committed to the future growth and prosperity of the building industry. The Council’s mission is to promote the most efficient and innovative use of building products within a nationally consistent regulatory environment for building.

The rapid pace and expanding scope of regulatory change, for example in the area of environmental sustainability, demands a more active and coordinated approach from the industry.

The need to retain and promote the Building Code of Australia is a high priority on the Council's agenda. The pre-eminent national regulatory framework for building; ensure regulatory impact statements are based on practical industry information; and that new products and systems are able to comply credibly and cost effectively with regulatory arrangements.

With senior representation from across the spectrum of the building materials and  products side of the building industry the Council and the sixteen member organisations are making a substantial contribution towards forging a new era for industry dialogue, networking and research focused on contemporary and strategic regulatory reform issues.
